Skradin replaced the entire city lighting

Altogether 200 pieces of Inluminos were installed at Skardin’s roads, replacing outdated traditional lamps. Teachers and children benefit from new lighting

Before the lighting modernization students had problems with copying the tasks or reading and understanding the text on the board when the weather was bad or cloudy. 
Beside replacing road and street lighting, the local school’s indoor lighting was also upgraded with 66 sourced premium, smart-ready LED fixtures in Skradin. For the benefit of teachers and students, the quality of lighting has undergone a major change.  Now the lighting is optimal, children do not force their eyes anymore, which is extremely important for their health. 

The modernization project brought uniform lighting on the roads and in downtown for the municipality. Upgraded lighting on roads reduced risks of accidents, improved illumination in downtown area resulted in higher safety of citizens.
In the school students enjoy enhanced visual comfort, new lighting improved color rendering and shading, and reduced glare and flickering.  Due to LED lights reading skills and focus of students can be improved.
As a result of the project overall energy consumption is reduced by 70% per year in Skradin translating into ROI in 6 years.

100% Hungarian designed and developed solar smart bench

The largest 8-seat Plus smart bench, in addition to the built-in phone charging features, have a real community organizing power due to their spectacular appearance and free Wi-Fi service, becoming the focal point of smart cities. Charged exclusively by solar energy, the place of installation is flexible. The bench constantly monitors its environment: changes in temperature, UV level, air quality, humidity, air pressure – and forwards the data to the server or notifies the owner if necessary.

Retain traditional look&feel on the Promenade

Located at the entrance to Krka National Park, 15 km from Šibenik, Skradin is a romantic Mediterranean town with narrow cobbled streets, passages, arches and stairs.  Its history dates back two thousand years, accounting for the notable archaeological sites in the local vicinity.  
As the entire town of Skradin is a protected cultural heritage site, it was a high priority for the city council to retain traditional look&feel on the Promenade. So Tungsram selected Nobila for the downtown area and installed 100 pieces from this smart-ready, decorative, LED fixture. 

Except for the new LED lighting being a more sustainable solution for people and the environment, this project also sets an excellent example of good practice and brings the City of Skradin one step closer to the title of the first smart city in the region.
Ultimately, a smart city is not a status, but a process that allows cities to respond more quickly to environmental and technical challenges, such as creating a more comfortable living environment for citizens. In this process, smart lighting is the first step as the smart LED device platform allows the installation of many other smart applications in the future.

During the last 20 years public lighting projects were executed in different phases, by various suppliers,
with different types of traditional lamps and even with LED fixtures, however with poor quality ones.
This resulted in disproportionally distributed lighting fixtures and poles, nonstandard lighting (even color temperature was different), lack of visual conformity: dark spots across downtown and on roads, negative impact on the city from citizens well-being.
Energy efficiency and the fixture’s integration capability for further smart applications were the main criteria by selecting from Tungsram portfolio. Inlumino, Tungsram flagship outdoor fixture, seemed to be an ideal choice again, so 233 pieces were installed across the village.

School in a brand-new light

Beside road and street lighting modernization with in-house Tungsram products, the local school’s indoor lighting was also upgraded with 57 sourced premium, smart-ready LED fixtures in Jarmina. New LED fixtures created upgraded, uniform lighting in the classroom, corridor and lobby. 

A few years ago, lighting modernization projects were mostly focusing on replacing traditional technologies or light bulbs. Today without considering or better to say, implement automation, controls or smart solutions it is impossible to fulfill any energy efficiency projects. 
As a result of the project overall energy consumption is reduced by 50% per year in Jarmina translating into ROI in 6,5 years. 

Besides financial, health and safety benefits, new Tungsram lighting serves as a backbone of smart applications.
